What is the Public Safety and Community Health Element?

The City is currently updating its Public Safety and Community Health Element of the General Plan. Efforts began November 2020, with a draft Safety Element expected Spring 2022.

This element identifies potential hazards and pollution sources, discusses important public safety issues, and highlights other community health, wellness, and safety priorities. The element provides goals, policies, and implementation actions to mitigate and protect the community against associated impacts. Specific topics covered in this element include:

1) Public Safety and Emergency Response

2) Natural Hazards

3) Community Health and Wellness

4) Environmental Quality (Noise and Air Quality included)
